In May’s annual Redd family meeting a decision was made to extend our non-profit help to collateral lines of John H Redd and Elizabeth Hancock. We are now ready to help with family that are not immediate to John’s household. Is it research you need done? Is it the care of artifacts? Here is a recent example of what can be done. 

While visiting the New Harmony cemetery recently I discovered that the headstone of 4 year old Elda Grace Redd had broken off it’s base and was lying on the ground. After calling the city officials I learned that family took care of something like this. I contacted Paul Redd, president of the Redd Family organization and asked if this could qualify for financial assistance. He said yes. I found a reliable company based in the Cedar City area and sent them a picture of the fallen headstone and got a bid. 

I then made a tax deductible contribution to the Redd Family Organization that would more than cover the cost of the repair and Landry Redd, our treasurer, was able to pay the contractor who fixed the headstone. Now I have a tax deductible contribution I can claim. But most important Elda Grace Redd is remembered.
